The Tee-Ball Association of WA is hosting its annual IGA Community Carnival this weekend, with players from the Kwinana Districts Diamond Sports Association ready to hit the pitch.

The carnival will be held at Yokine Reserve on Sunday and the KDDSA under-11 team Bad Influences has been training twice a week in preparation.

Senior coach Kim Collet said the players were eager to test their skills against teams from all over Perth.

“We love to get our kids into this carnival, not only for the experience but it also helps us qualify for other State-level carnivals,” he said.

“Our teams play every Saturday and all our players are improving a great deal each week.”

Collet said the association had 110 children aged from three to 14.

“There are a lot of siblings in the club and we have a large number of girls on each of our teams, which is great to see,” he said.

“Tee-ball is fun and family-orientated and we encourage our players to be fair and develop their fundamental skills.

“It gets kids outside and exercising while they make friends and expand their social network.

“We are very lucky to have fantastic facilities and great support from the City of Kwinana.”

The Kwinana Districts Diamond Sports Association is based at Thomas Oval in Kwinana.
