The hills will come alive
Auditions will be held for The Sound of Music at Koorliny Arts Centre on September 16 from 9am.
The much-loved musical will run at the Koorliny Arts Centre and Kwinana Industries Council 2013 Performance Season, which will also include Eurobeat—Almost Eurovision, The Wizard of Oz, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
For more than 50 years the musical, with music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and based on a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, has delighted audiences on stage and film.
In January and February 2013, the musical will be performed at Koorliny for the first time, with the centre’s manager Ryan Taaffe as the director.
‘‘It’s a great family musical and I am sure a lot of people will enjoy seeing it here,’’ he said.
‘‘We’re looking for people to fill all roles.’’
