Three-piece alternative style to stage
It will be a night to remember at the Rockingham Hotel this weekend as up-and-coming alternative rock act Midnight Boulevard take to the stage.
Lead singer and guitarist Dane Wellman said visitors could expect a selection of poetic, progressive heavy rock as the headlining three-piece take the stage on Saturday night.
Wellman said the band was making good, following a successful State tour and the release of their first full-length album last year.
“Midnight Boulevard has been playing together for about five years,” Wellman said.
“I suppose you could say our sound is a little bit like Hymn or My Bloody Valentine, but with elements of indie thrown in.”
Wellman, who works at Rockingham Guitar World by day, said songwriting was a collaborative effort with bandmates Robert Bulman and Ben Scott, and usually focused on social issues.
He said the band would showcase its first single Strychnine from album Happy Hour of Assault.
Wellman said Midnight Boulevard would take to the stage, after lively sets from The Lunettes and Ichora.
