Surfers gathered at Secret Harbour beach at the weekend for round six of the Surf Beach Boardriders competition.

Ideal 2 to 3ft waves and sunny skies allowed for perfect conditions for both spectators and surfers alike.

Surf Beach Boardriders president Steve Rayner said only one board snapped on the day and all surfers put in an outstanding effort making the competition tight.

"Declan, who surfed in boys cadets, outwitted his opponents by great wave selection," he said.

"It was his first win and the same could be said of our veteran long boarder Rohan Pugh who all so pulled out his first win."

He said the Mcpherson family surfed to their normal high standard and April Mcpherson took out the Girls Juniors and cadets.

Mr Rayner said the club had two more competitions left for the year and all divisions were pretty close with no clear leaders.

He said a great day was had by competitors and their families.
