A man in his 40s has walked away unharmed after his truck tipped on the corner of Baldivis and Safety Bay Roads on Monday.

The incident occurred about 11.30am after the driver exited the roundabout heading south when his load of sand shifted, causing the truck to tip onto its side.

A police officer at the scene confirmed the driver was unharmed and an ambulance was not needed.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services was first on site to clean up a fuel spill from the vehicle, and after shifting the sand out of the way, it was pulled back onto all four tyres by a tow-truck at 1.40pm.

The incident blocked the south-bound lane of Safety Bay Road, causing traffic to back up on either side of the roundabout.

One of many onlookers said trucks should not be allowed to use main roads and that too many accidents had been happening in the area lately.
