Victims urged to inspect jewellery

ELISIA SEEBERSound Telegraph

Peel District Crime Team is on a mission to return more than 1000 jewellery items, seized during police operations over the past two years, to their rightful owners.

Senior Constable Natalie Greatwood said she wanted to encourage residents who reported jewellery items stolen between September 2012 and October 2013, and could provide proof of ownership, to come forward.

“The items I have relate to seizures made between September 26, 2012 and 0ctober 1, 2013 and relate to five separate search warrant seizures, so all items are suspected of being stolen,” she said.

“I have numerous rings (mainly women’s), watches (both women and men’s) necklaces, bangles, bracelets, pendants, charms and earrings.

“There are also some pocket watches, gemstones and brooches.”

Contact details and incident report numbers or brief circumstances regarding the burglary can be sent to Sen. Const. Greatwood at nat.greatwood@police.wa.gov.au before Friday, January 31, to arrange a viewing appointment.
