Volunteers shine

Volunteers from all over the Rockingham area were honoured at an annual awards ceremony on Thursday night.

The City of Rockingham’s Celebrating Rockingham Awards, held at the council buildings, rewarded service in seven categories.

The Inspirational Adult Award was won by Tracey Cassels, a teaching assistant at Secret Harbour Primary School, who has worked tirelessly over the past eight years as a fundraiser, child carer and campaigner for child safety.

She recently saved the school $30,000 when she got Government funding for air-conditioning in a new building.
