Awards highlight Lions Club’s 50th celebration

The Lions Club of Kwinana celebrated its 50th anniversary at the weekend.

Saturday night saw the club celebrate and hold the officers’ installation ceremony alongside other presentations and awards.

Representatives from nine Lions Clubs were joined by special guests including district governor-elect Beverley Hawkins and Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams.

Lion Dave Nelson was also honoured on the night, with a presentation from The Australian Lions Foundation for his 50 years service as a member of Lions International.

Lion Geoffrey Moore was presented with a Ten Year Chevron while Trudy Andrea handed over the office of president to Lion Simon Johnson.

Ms Adams addressed the meeting, presenting an award for Volunteer of the Year to Lion Ash Towns.
