The best and brightest of our business community were recognised last Saturday night at Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce’s annual Regional Business Awards.

Award nominees, VIPs and the business community at large attended the glitzy event at Gary Holland Community Centre, where Kleen Slate Services took out the night’s big award, 2019 Business of the Year.

Last year’s big winner, Impression Catering, had a good 2019 too, picking up the award for Small-Medium Enterprise Business of the Year and owner Lukarla McCready-Turner was named Business Person of the Year.

Bendigo Bank Rockingham/Secret Harbour’s Joe Griffiths was named Young Business Person of the Year, while Baldivis Children’s Forest was recognised for the Outstanding Community Event.

Other winners included Lavoro Italiano Restaurant for Excellence in Tourism or Hospitality, Down South Therapy for Corporate Business of the Year, Kleen Slate for Micro Business of the Year and Sharyn McCaskey MDVS Business Services for Solo Business of the Year.

Drip Hunters Plumbing and Gas won the Judges Commendation Award, while popular foreshore venue Pink Duck Beach Bar & Bistro was the People’s Choice Business Award winner. RKCC also inducted three new life members on the night — Jean Wootton, Brad Dean and Danny Strent.
