Some of Waikiki artist Irene Osborne’s finest work is set to be featured alongside four other artists at a special exhibition starting later this month.

Ms Osborne’s collection of stunning home interiors and colourful still life paintings will go on display at Zig Zag Gallery in Kalamunda for the In and Around the Home exhibition.

The talented local artist has had work featured in a number of galleries and exhibitions across WA, including the City of Rockingham’s Castaways Sculpture Awards and Sculptures by the Sea in Cottesloe.

Having painted passionately for more than 40 years, Ms Osborne said she loved how art helped provide an escape from the grind of daily life.

“I’ve got a 1000 ideas in my head all the time and I always want to paint them,” Ms Osborne said.

“I love getting into the zone and forgetting about the world — especially when I’m working outdoors, it’s like I’m part of the landscape.

“It’s a relaxing thing to help me unwind and from the problems of the world.”

Ms Osborne’s work can be found in public art, sculpture and entry statements across the State including in Shark Bay, Mt Barker, Dalwallinu, Ballidu and here in Rockingham.

The exhibition at Zig Zag Gallery opens on April 28 and will run until May 13.
