Historic fair full of family fun

From its humble beginnings 41 years ago, the community is still at the heart of the Baldivis County Fair, which organisers say makes it so successful.

There will be a jam-packed program with plenty for all ages to enjoy at this year’s festival on Saturday.

There will be live entertainment, carnival rides, showbags, refreshments, children’s activities and raffles.

Baldivis Primary School P and C president Renae Taylor said there would be about 80 stalls, including not-for-profit groups and handmade and commercial stalls.

“There is something for everyone,” she said. “We feel privileged and proud to continue this event and all funds raised go directly back into the school.”

City of Rockingham councillor Matt Whitfield said the fair was a “genuine community event”, providing low-cost fun.

“The P and C have done a fantastic job,” he said.

“A handful of people have organised the fair, which has taken months and months of planning.”

Baldivis Primary School principal Bridget Jones said the school was “always on board” to ensure the continuation of the fair.

“The P and C have done a wonderful job value adding to the program to ensure there is something for everyone,” she said.

The event was previously held at Baldivis Oval, but this year will be held at Baldivis Primary School, from 10am to 5pm.
