The City of Rockingham is seeking expressions of interest from experienced art facilitators for workshops at the Rockingham Arts Centre between January and June 2020.

The multi-functional arts centre includes a studio, exhibition space and a multi-purpose room.

Expressions of interest are sought from experienced artists who are able to deliver workshops in artistic disciplines that are not provided by community arts organisations in the City.

Previous examples of workshops run by facilitators at the Rockingham Arts Centre include life drawing, small-scale sculpture, Chinese painting, raffia weaving, digital art and stencilling.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said the Rockingham Arts Centre played an important role in boosting arts and culture in the community.

“The City of Rockingham is committed to activating the Rockingham Arts Centre by offering a range of diverse workshops and exhibitions in a variety of arts practices and forms,” he said.

“It is important to highlight to facilitators that the City is not currently seeking expressions of interest in the areas of writing, ceramics, watercolours, basic techniques, basic arts and crafts.

“If you are an experienced art facilitator who can offer workshops in disciplines that are not currently being offered, then we encourage you to lodge an expression of interest.”

Expressions of interest are open until Friday, September 13.

EOI forms are available at the Rockingham Arts Centre on Kent Street in Rockingham.
