Mayor-y Christmas!
In true Australian style, people will be seeking ways to cool off this Christmas with the day’s temperate set to hit 35C across Rockingham and Kwinana.
The day is the perfect temperature take a dip in a pool or stay indoors with the air-conditioner on full blast.
Kwinana mayor Carol Adams (pictured) said she, like others, was looking forward to a break.
“Whether you celebrate Christmas or other traditions, I am sure you will agree that many of us are looking forward to a few days of rest,” she said.
“On behalf of the Councillors and staff at the City of Kwinana, I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a fantastic New Year.”
Rockingham mayor Barry Sammels said the festive season presented an opportunity to relax a nd celebrate with close family and friends, but also asked people to consider those who cannot celebrate.
“I encourage residents to take a moment to consider those who may be less fortunate,”
Both mayors also thanked emergency services for their continued work over the holidays.
Ms Adams said: “As we head into this break period, spare a thought for our wonderful emergency services staff and volunteers who continue to keep Kwinana safe over the Christmas period.”
