Nominate your sport stars

Nominations for the City of Rockingham’s 2017 Sports Star Awards are now open.

Mayor Barry Sammels said the Sports Star awards were an annual celebration of Rockingham sporting achievers.

For the awards’ 21st anniversary this year, they will recognise local, regional, State, national and international level champions from Rockingham.

Residents are able to nominate a sportsperson in a number of categories including club and team of the year, junior and senior sports star, volunteer of the year and sportsperson with a disability.

“Nominations for this year’s awards are open until Friday, July 28, and I encourage people to come forward and nominate a talented Rockingham individual, team or club for their contribution to local sports,” Mr Sammels said.
