Police seek witnesses to Warnbro chase crash
Police are searching for the driver of a stolen vehicle, who allegedly led police on a chase before crashing into a stationary vehicle and fleeing on foot in Warnbro this morning.
About 10am police officers sighted a Subaru Liberty with stolen plates travelling along Safety Bay Road near Read Street in Warnbro.
When the driver of the Subaru failed to stop police activated their emergency lights and sirens and followed the vehicle. But, the chase came to a crashing halt when the Subaru collied with a Mitsubishi ASX sedan, which was stationary at a stop sign at the intersection of Warnbro Sound Avenue and San Sebastian Boulevard in Port Kennedy.
The driver of the Subaru continued along Jean Pierre Drive before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot.
A man and woman in their 60s, were taken to Rockingham Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
