The City of Rockingham is zooming towards its 2017 Rockingham Community Breakfast Ride on March 19 to celebrate Bike Week.

The family-friendly event will begin at 8.30am and will include two cycle distances – a smooth 5km or a challenging 11km ride along the coastline.

The ride will be followed by a free breakfast, free bike maintenance checks and children's activities including a bouncy castle, face painting, giant games, prizes and giveaways.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels encouraged families to dust off their bikes and rediscover the joy of cycling.

“We are very lucky in Rockingham to have many shared paths throughout the City, and along our beautiful coastline,” he said.

“We have recently started work on the final stage of the principal shared pedestrian and cyclist path linking Baldivis town centre with Warnbro train station.

“This will complete the 4.2km path the City has been building over the past two years which will enable cyclists to ride all the way from the Baldivis town centre to Warnbro train station, and connect with existing bike paths to the Rockingham city centre and the coast.”
