Kwinana RSL has been targeted just a week before Anzac Day, with two men caught on camera breaking into the premises on Good Friday.

Kwinana RSL president Ron Hiscock told the Sound Telegraph the men forced entry to the building through the door in the early hours of the morning, causing up to $10,000 worth of damage.

He said the intruders left a trail of destruction, smashing security lights outside the building, destroying cameras and raiding cupboards.

“You can see in the footage one guy ran straight to the bar, but didn’t touch any of the liquor,” he said. They left the door of the freezer part of the fridge open and had opened the stove and microwave. “It seems like they were just after money,” he said.

“Luckily they only ran out with some soft drink that we had there ready for the gunfire breakfast, but they left a whole heap of mess and damage. It’s put us back a bit... especially when we’re trying to get ready for ANZAC Day.”Anyone with information can call police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
