Heavy showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds lashed the State last night and those conditions aren’t expected to ease anytime soon.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Perth was lashed by 11mm of rain between 9am yesterday morning and 9am today.

A whopping 38mm fell on Rottnest Island over the same period. Jarrahdale received 37mm.

Between 7mm and 18mm of rain is forecast for the Perth Metro area by midnight tonight.

A further 5-10mm is expected to fall tomorrow, with showers easing later in the day.

The weather is the result of a cold front is moving over the western and southern parts of the State.

Showers are expected to continue on Sunday.
