A horse has been left without his rider in a night-mare situation down Baldivis way.

The popular Stockman statue was stolen from the corner of Nairn and Arpenteur Drives at the Parkland Heights development.

It’s believed the Stockman went missing on June 11 about 3am.

Rockingham Park the developers of the estate have put up a $500 reward for the return of Brock the Roundabout Cowboy.

It would have taken a lot of heavy lifting to nick this particular varmint as it took a crane to install the cowboy and his horse in November last year.

Brock is 1.8 metres tall and on the hefty side – weighing about 100kg – and was firmly concreted in.

“It would have taken at least two people to move the statue,” a spokesperson for Rockingham Park said.

“Richard Simpson, one of the owners of the development company designed the Stockman and Horses,” they said.

“The statue is a generic stockman to reflect the equine history of the local area.

“The roundabout where the Stockman was stolen from depicts a horse being trained and the second roundabout on Nairn Drive depicts wild horses in a landscape.”

CCTV footage captured about the time Brock went missing shows a light-coloured 4WD towing a trailer.

“(CCTV shows) the car leaves the no through road side of the roundabout on Arpenteur Drive, where it was parked,” the spokesperson said.

“It exits the roundabout the wrong way and travels north on Nairn Drive.”

Police are aware of the theft and are investigating.
