Bentley father denied bail after allegedly texting young daughter to send ‘sexy pictures’ of her naked

A 33-year-old man has been denied bail after he allegedly texted his underage daughter “let’s test our love” and asked her to send him “sexy pictures” of her naked. The Bentley father, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared in Rockingham Magistrates Court via video link from Hakea Prison on December 8, charged with having breached a family violence restraining order and encouraged or incited a child under 13 years to do an indecent act. Police prosecutor Senior Sergeant Naomi Foster said between August 27 and September 10 of 2020, the father allegedly texted his young daughter who lives interstate and said to her “let’s test our love”. Sen. Sgt Foster said the man allegedly then sent a message to her which said “be honest my baby if Dad asked you for sexy pictures and ones of you naked, would you do that for Dad? I hope you would if you love me my baby.” His daughter allegedly responded to her dad and told him no, when he sent her another text which said “to be honest with you my daughter, don’t hate me but I would love to see you naked and sexy pictures of you. “I know it’s wrong but it’s OK, but only if you want to my baby,” Sen. Sgt Foster told the court. The father’s lawyer Brooke Sojan made a bail application on behalf of her client and said he would be able to live at his dad’s house in Bentley. Sen. Sgt Foster initially wasn’t opposed, but upon doing a check on the address, found that children were living in the house which would breach the father’s bail conditions. Ms Sojan said her client was unaware of any children living at the address and suggested adjourning the matter until official checks of the property could be made. Magistrate Vivien Edwards agreed and remanded the father to December 15 for a bail inquiry.
