Kwinana residents are being encouraged to go green as the city’s annual Living Green Series kicks off this month.

Over the next three months the city will roll out its Living Green environment series, which will be jam-packed with workshops, events, and subsidies to help Kwinana residents live a little greener.

Mayor Carol Adams said this year’s program covered ways to live green at home, in the community and for the planet.

The city will host its popular seedling subsidy program and night stalk events, along with the Living Smart Workshop Series.

Ms Adams said the series aimed to inspire sustainable change within homes and would provide handy community tips to minimise waste reduction, boost energy and water conservation and more.

“Planting days and verge makeover workshops are also part of the series and Living Green participants will have the opportunity to add their pledge to the Living Green Tree that will be housed in the Kwinana Public Library,” Ms Adams said.

“Council also recently adopted the local biodiversity strategy on March 22 which strengthens the City’s commitment to identify, protect and conserve areas of high ecological value.

“One of the outcomes determined by the community through the Strategic Community Plan is a naturally beautiful environment that is enhanced and protected.”
