From Wellard to Orelia, Leda, Bertram and Calista, here’s Kwinana’s Christmas lolly run schedule
Now a 70-year tradition, the Kwinana Lolly Run returns in the lead-up to Christmas with about 100 volunteers expecting to hand out more than 40,000 lolly bags and a good dose of festive cheer across seven nights.
City of Kwinana mayor Peter Feasey said four trucks would make their way through each residential street in Kwinana, throwing lollies to all who come out to wave hello.
“Residents can even organise street gatherings by applying for a street meet rebate from the City of Kwinana for $150,” Mr Feasey said.
“The annual Lolly Run is a special tradition in Kwinana and while it has evolved over the years, it has always provided an opportunity to bring some festive cheer, bring people together in celebration of where they live and build local connections.”
Mr Feasey acknowledged the volunteers who step in to help during Santa’s very busy time and thanked the Kwinana Industrial Council for its financial backing of the beloved tradition.
The trucks begin on December 17 and roll through each afternoon until December 23 from 4.30pm to 8.30pm.
