RSPCA WA charges Port Kennedy couple with animal cruelty over flea-ridden dog with chronic skin disease

RSPCA WA has rehomed a dog found at a Port Kennedy home with severe and untreated skin allergies – and charged its owners. Among the allegations that led to cruelty charges against a 40-year-old man and his 39-year-old wife is that their American staffy crossbreed had a flea infestation, chronic skin disease, conjunctivitis, alopecia and infected ears. Inspectors also allege the four-year-old female dog was found in a yard that hadn’t been cleared of faeces in about six weeks, scratching incessantly. The Port Kennedy pair are due to front Rockingham Magistrates Court this Friday, December 15.
