Two drivers involved in a Collie car and motorcycle crash with serious injuries sustained

Two drivers sustained serious injuries in a car and motorcycle crash in the South West on Thursday.

The collision occurred at 8.50am on February 27 in Collie.

It is alleged the 38-year-old female driver of a Mitsubishi Triton collided with the 71-year-old male rider of the black Triumph motorcycle.

The man sustained serious injuries in the crash and was flown to Royal Perth Hospital.

A spokesperson from East Metropolitan Health Service Communications said the man had remained in a critical condition in the intensive care unit since the collision.

A Main Roads WA spokesperson said Coalfields Highway between Patstone Road and Wellington Boulevard was closed from 10.12am until 2.49pm to clear the scene.

WA Police have charged the 38-year-old Australind woman with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm. She was due to appear in Collie Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
