A number of crashes are causing peak-hour chaos as traffic ramps up across Perth on Friday morning.

An accident on Mitchell Freeway southbbound at Reid Highway in Balcatta has forced the closure of the right emergency lane.

Towies are onsite and traffic is extremely heavy on approach.

A crash on Kwinana Freeway northbound after Mt Henry bridge in Salter Point has left traffic banked up to South Street, with the right lane shut.

Motorists are advised to drive with extra caution as drivers and passengers are out of their vehicles.

Great Eastern Highway eastbound between Helena and Cale streets in Midland is closed after an accident.

Police on on the scene and drivers have ben urged to find an alternative route.

Motorists have also been told to exercise extreme caution in Banjup on Armadale and Liddelow roads after a crash.

A crash on Leach Highway westbound after Abernethy Road in Kewdale has vehicles parked in the left emergency lane.

Drivers should proceed with caution but traffic delays are minimal.
