A 31-year-old Shoalwater man last week admitted assaulting a Swan Taxis driver and damaging his vehicle during an incident in Cooloongup last month.

Fly-in, fly-out worker Brenton Ambrose Moore pleaded guilty to charges of assault and criminal damage at Rockingham Magistrate's Court last Wednesday, after the incident outside Grange Pharmacy on May 9.

The court was asked to deal with matters immediately to allow Moore to return to work as a commercial diver, but the case was adjourned to allow time to collect CCTV footage from the taxi and the preparation of pre-sentence reports.

Mr Moore was bailed to return to court on July 22.
