Rockingham cops searching for man allegedly involved in abduction

Rockingham detectives are still searching for a male allegedly involved in the abduction of a teenager in Cooloongup last week.

Detective Senior Constable Dave Coton said a 19-year-old man was abducted last Wednesday about 1.30pm from the side of Mataitai Loop, Cooloongup.

It is alleged a green Jeep pulled up alongside the teenager and two men got out and forcibly put the 19-year-old into the car and drove him to another address in Cooloongup.

The teenager was allegedly held against his will for about 30 minutes before he was released at his own house and managed to call police.

A 22-year-old Cooloongup man was charged with deprivation of liberty and assault occasioning bodily harm.

He appeared in Rockingham Magistrate's Court on Friday and the case was adjourned until September.
