The three Rebels alleged to be behind a "sustained, unmerciful and violent" attack on a 27-year-old man last month will fight charges of grievous bodily harm after pleading not guilty in Rockingham Magistrate's Court.

Rockingham Rebels president Jason Paul Gastarov, 38, vice-president Paul Sjahrir Marsandi, 28, and club member Christopher Mark Allen, 32, were arrested after police raided the chapter's main clubhouse and two other properties last Thursday.

Defence lawyer Terry Dobson, acting for Mr Marsandi, made an unsuccessful application to have his client and the co-accused released on bail on Friday.

Mr Dobson said WA Police had stated their intentions to "disrupt and dismantle" the club and had put mem -bers under constant surveillance.

"There's not much they can do without being watched (by police)," Mr Dobson said.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Stuart Chaytor made strong objections to releasing the men, saying police were concerned about the Rebels' "status and associations".

Sgt Chaytor said the men could threaten and intimidate the victim who was "running scared".

He said police had anecdotal evidence from Hakea Prison, where the victim had been in custody, that members of the outlaw motorcycle club were searching for the complainant.

Magistrate Susan Richardson said she had insufficient details to grant the men bail and gave the police an additional four days to provide evidence why the men should remain in custody.

Police allege the brutal assault happened on June 10 in Port Kennedy.

The victim was hospitalised with several facial fractures which required surgery.

Sgt Chaytor described the assault as "sustained, unmerciful and violent".

Police claim the assault stemmed from a dispute about the ownership of a car.

More than a dozen Rebels - many wearing the club's colours - descended upon the courthouse in a show of support for their clubmates, prompting police to increase the number of officers at the courts.

The three Rebels are due to re-appear in court this week and are expected to apply for bail.
