The Medina Community Festival is just around the corner and the day is set to be packed full of local entertainment and activities.

This year marks the fourth year of the festival, which will be held at Medina Hall on September 27.

The festival is centred on celebrating the community spirit of Medina and is a chance for local talent to show audiences what they have got.

The day will begin with a traditional welcome to country and will feature Yonga Boys dance group, performers Yvonne & Fred, Kwinana's Got Talent contest, Wheatbelt blues band The Flies and the popular Mr Michael, who will be captivating audiences with his drum show.

Festival organiser Sara Urban said the event encouraged audience participation and Medina Primary School favourite Mr Michael would also run a community drum circle.

"Mr Michael does some wonderful voluntary work at the school - he teaches fantastic classes in drums and marimba and the children really enjoy his visits each week," she said.

The festival will recognise a stand-out resident who has contributed to the community with the Medina Marvel Award and this year organisers have put together a Yarning Corner, where local residents can listen and contribute knowledge regarding sustainability and the environment.

A healthy lunch will be provided and a wide range of children's activities will be set up to keep everyone happily entertained for the day.

Entry to the festival is a gold coin donation and organisers look forward to yet another successful event.

The festival is open from 11am-3pm and put together by many devoted volunteers.
