Countdown is on for official Christmas Day forecast, with early predictions tipping a cool 25C

If you’re wondering what the weather will have in store for us on Christmas, wait no longer, the official forecast is out this afternoon.

Early estimates have predicted a cool 25C for the beloved holiday, which would make it one of the coolest Christmas Days on record.

According to Sky Weather meteorologist Rob Sharpe, a shower and cloudy skies could also be in store.

But the Bureau of Meteorology will release its official forecast at 4.30pm.

The agency is predicting a sunny top of 31C for Christmas Eve, with light winds become south-westerly during the morning.

Last year Christmas Day reached a maximum of 36C and 30C in 2022.

In 2021, Perth recorded is its hottest Christmas Day, and third-highest December maximum, with 42C, and the second-highest December temperature on Boxing Day with the mercury reaching a steamy 43C.

In 2020 Perth recorded three consecutive days of 40C from the 23rd of December right up to the big day, according to the Weather Bureau.
