Recap: Fremantle Dockers stay perfect after downing Adelaide in sloppy Friday night clash
Fremantle are enjoying their best start to a season this decade, can they keep the momentum up against the under-pressure Crows? Follow along below.
For the first time in nearly a year, the Dockers named an unchanged line-up with Matt Tarbener overcoming back issues as the Dockers stick with their tall timber up forward.
At the other end Taylor Walker will be key, can Alex Pearce keep him quiet after shutting down Nick Larkey last week?
Relive all the action below.
That’s were we’ll leave it
The Dockers will head to Adelaide for Gather Round to face unbeaten Carlton. If they can down the Blues the lid will well and truly be off.
It should be a cracking match and there’s still plenty of wash-up to come from tonight’s game but for now goodnight.
Longmuir speaks
“I’m really proud of the players, we said before the game we wanted to make it an arm-wrestle and we did that,” he said.
“I thought we could’ve captilised more on our field position particularly in the second quarter but I’m proud.”
“It was a high pressure game and I think the players were feeling fatigued at the end.
“Pearce played an outstanding game, the way he came off his man to affect the play and I feel like after quarter time our team defence stood up really well.”

A ‘frustrated’ Matthew Nicks
“Unfortunately at the moment we’re not playing to the level we expect,” he said.
“We’ve got too many players out of form too many to carry.
“I thought we fought ok for three quarters but the way we fell away at the end was disappointing.
“We turned the ball over in some really dangerous areas and made some poor decisions which is uncharacteristic for us.”
“We’re frustrated no doubt about it, we have to find a way to get out of this form we’re in.”
Here’s the song
Is the lid off yet?
Here’s the wrap of the night
Best on ground
Hayden Young finished with 32 disposals to go with eight clearances and six tackles in a huge night.
Fyfe had nine clearances and 21 disposals and Walters could of had six goals if he kicked straight.
But plaudits should go to Alex Pearce who was a rock down back. Make no mistale the Dockers were under siege at times in this match but he monstered Taylor Walker and took crucial marks to hold down the fort.
Walters speaks
“It was a good win, to have 51,000 here tonight is incredible,” he says.
“It’s exciting to be 3-0 but there’s still a lot of work to be done especially our consistency up forward but looking forward to Carlton’s challenge.”
Here’s how every player fared in the arm-wrestle
