UFC 305: Live coverage of full card from Perth’s RAC Arena, featuring Dricus du Plessis and Israel Adesanya
UFC mania has again hit Perth, with a packed RAC Arena playing host to a huge slate of fights on Sunday morning.
Relive the best of the action here!
du Plessis wins
du Plessis has landed some heavuy blows and drops Adesanya late in the round. He capitilised quickly with a choke and Adesanya taps out. The champion has retained.
Third Round
This was all stand up and throw. My lord there was some big hits and both men are still standing. du Plessis arguably landed the bigger blows and more of them. Adesanya landed a good spinning back elbow but it was probably the round for the South African champion. du Plessis just ahead 29-28.
Round Two
du Plessis clearly didn’t want to have anything to do with the stand-up in that round, taking down Adesanya twice. But the two-time former champion didn’t let it stress him and cam out of the round mostly undamaged.
First Round
The speed of that round was incredible. Both fighters were on top of their game here. Adesanya landed a few nice shots early but du Plessis settled and caught Adesanya right on the jaw. Neither look fazed in the first but.
Main Event Time
Here we go. For the middleweight championship we have South Africa’s Dricus du Plessis against New Zealand’s Israel Adesanya. They do not like each other. This is going to be massive.
Kara-France wins
It’s a first-round upset for New Zealander Kai Kara-France. He catches Erceg with a massive left and floors the Perth fighter. Erceg gets up but goes down again and is finished. The referee gets in between and Kara-France has won.
Erceg v Kara-France
The hometown boy Steve “Astroboy” Erceg is up next, taking on New Zealand’s Kai Kara-France. This is an anticipated fight in the flyweight division.
OH MY LORD
The crowd erupts as Dan Hooker wins the fight by split decision! What a fight and what a win. This one needs to be run back though.
Third Round
Gamrot’s left eye closes over the longer the round goes as Hooker begins to control the fight. The New Zealander snuffed so many takedowns in an epic fight that will be hard to call.
Second Round
A lot of the same from Gamrot, with Hooker surviving several submission attempts. Got some late big hits in with the elbow but you have to wonder if it’s enough given the control time.
