The 2024 Telethon Ball etched its name in Perth’s philanthropic history, shattering records with an unprecedented $16.7 million raised in a single evening. Crown Perth’s Crown Ballroom transformed into a lavish wonderland, adorned with Matthew Landers’ stunning florals, setting the stage for an unforgettable night of generosity and glamour.

Australia’s political and business elite mingled, sipping bespoke cocktails from the buzzing Rainfall Distillery bar with their Espresso Martinis, infused with Karri Honey and Roasted Macadamias, proved irresistible to the A-list crowd.

A poignant message from a Perth family whose daughter suffers from a rare debilitating illness touched hearts, igniting a pledge wildfire during the Gift of Giving segment. Former WA Governor Malcolm McCusker led the charge with a $3 million donation, followed by a flurry of generous pledges from WA’s biggest names. Billionaire Laurence Escalante and family contributed $1m, while Rod and Carol Jones and Rhonda Wyllie each pledged $500,000.

As the night progressed, Australian music legends Human Nature and singer Vanessa Amorosi electrified the atmosphere, turning the ballroom into a pulsating dance floor. The record-breaking total, announced by Steve Fewster near midnight, sent waves of jubilation through the crowd.

While the Telethon Ball reaffirmed its status as Perth’s premier social event, the evening’s true triumph lay in its unwavering support for WA’s sick children, uniting the State’s most influential figures in a remarkable display of compassion and community spirit.
