Expo connects jobseekers and employers
The inaugural Wellard Opportunities Expo will be held this weekend with the aim of connecting potential employees with job opportunities.
Running this Saturday from 10am-2pm, the event will provide chances to speak to employment agencies, learn job-seeking skills and network with others who are seeking jobs or looking to employ people.
Talks include Apprenticeship Opportunities from Apprenticeship Support Australia, Parents as Job Coaches and Interview Tips and Tricks from AB Career Consulting’s Alison Bannister and Disability Employment Services from Chorus Australia.
Attendees will also listen to Ningi Ventures’ Caroline Marshall about Six Keys to Gaining Employment and the Small Business Development Corp on Eight Steps to Starting Your Own Business. Ms Bannister said she was passionate about assisting people getting on short lists for jobs and encouraged those interested to attend the event. “It could give them amazing advice to either find employers or to get onto the short lists for jobs,” she said.
The free event is hosted by the City of Kwinana.
