Man crashes into restaurant before fleeing scene

Holly ThompsonSound Telegraph

A car has crashed into the side of a restaurant in Yangebup, after the driver lost control along Beeliar Drive.

At about 7.20pm on November 25 the driver of a white Hyundai i30 Hatchback lost control of the car as they exited a roundabout at the intersection of Durnin Avenue.

The car mounted the kerb and went through a garden bed before crashing into the wall of the restaurant, cracking the concrete.

The driver then fled the scene and left the cars engine running.

Traffic Enforcement Group officers are investigating the traffic crash and inquiries by police have lead them to believe the same vehicle was used in a fuel drive-off incident at a service station located on Rockingham Road in Hamilton Hill at about 6.50am the same day.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen the crash, who have dash-cam vision of the crash, or can identify the person in the images to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the incident online.
